Recently, in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, the annual “World Summit 2020” organized by the International Peace Federation was held from February 2-8.
At the prestigious summit, as a Peace Ambassador of the UN, the Chairman of the ADL’s Regional Board of France and member of the ADL Central Board, Vazgen Eskijian, also participated, representing France.
Bringing together high-level participants from 172 countries, the World Peace Summit has become one of the most notable annual conferences for representatives from the political, scientific, religious and civil society sectors, who shape world opinion by discussing common opportunities and responsibilities for improving global peace.
Within this framework, Eskijian joined leading experts gathered there from around the world, who discussed common issues of promoting the establishment of world peace and, in particular, the question of the unification of the two Koreas.
Presidents, prime ministers, ministers, parliamentarians and various religious leaders, as well as some 7,000 scientists, brought their participation to the annual peace summit of the International Peace Federation.
During the event, mementos were presented to three personalities of global significance – former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President of Senegal Macky Sall, and Palestinian Lutheran Bishop Munib Younan – for their efforts directed at fostering peace in their countries.
