Americans supporting the Palestinians have blocked the entrances of the building of the missile-producing company “Raytheon,” in protest that it sells ammunition to Israel. This is reported by the Al-Modon website.
“The reason for the protest is the billions worth of ammunition the company has sold to Israel, which are used to kill Palestinians and occupy their lands, as well as to protect Israel’s racist system,” said the participants of the protest.
The source noted that early in the morning, two of the protest participants, chaining themselves to vehicles, blocked the company’s gate and entrance and prevented employees from entering the building. After keeping the company closed for approximately 5 hours, the demonstrators were arrested.
Incidentally, the organizers of this protest and demonstration are members of an anti-war group named “Back.”
For its part, the “Raytheon” company stated that it respects people’s right to protest, as long as those protests are carried out in a peaceful and lawful manner. The company specializes in producing missiles, particularly Iron Dome missiles, which Israel uses to kill Palestinians.
The company is located in the city of Waltham in the US state of Massachusetts, and also has branches in other states.
Within the same context, 17 American organizations, in a statement, condemned the agreement signed between a hospital in the city of Tampa, Florida, and Israeli companies. They called on healthcare workers to reject the agreement, emphasizing that Israel deprives Palestinians of the health system, striking healthcare infrastructure, which is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.
In the statement, reference was made to Israel having struck the roads leading to the largest hospital in Gaza even during the “Corona” pandemic, hindering patients from reaching it. And that Israeli airstrikes have destroyed homes and caused the displacement of 74 thousand Palestinians. Therefore, supporting Israeli companies means supporting Israeli occupation aggressions and the killing of thousands, concluded the statement.
