United States President Joe Biden has declared a state of emergency in Mississippi due to the tornadoes that struck the state and has ordered federal assistance to be provided to local authorities, having signed the corresponding document, according to the White House website.
Federal assistance may include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the natural disaster.
It should be recalled that powerful tornadoes claimed the lives of several dozen people, with strong winds damaging buildings, uprooting trees, and damaging power lines.
