Russia has, in all likelihood, begun receiving small batches of Iranian-made “Shahed” unmanned aerial vehicles on a regular basis. This was stated in a report published on March 26 by the UK Ministry of Defence, as reported by the Ukrainian website korrespondent.net.
“Russia has, in all probability, begun replenishing its reserves with small batches of ‘Shahed’ unmanned aerial vehicles on a regular basis,” the British military said.
According to British intelligence data, since the beginning of March this year, Russia has launched at least 71 “Shahed” drones against targets in Ukraine. It was noted that the strikes followed a two-week pause in attacks.
According to the information, the Russian side launches “Shahed” drones from two directions — from the Krasnodar region and from the Bryansk oblast — which allows it to target a wide area of Ukraine and reduces flight time to targets in the north of the country.
It should be noted that since the start of military operations in Ukraine, official Kyiv and the West have repeatedly stated that Tehran supplies Moscow with combat drones. However, the Russian Federation and Iran deny these claims.
