The Paris court has found former French President Nicolas Sarkozy guilty in the case of illegal financing of the 2012 election campaign.
Sarkozy did not attend the pronouncement of the verdict. The former French president is represented in court by his lawyer, Thierry Herzog.
Court hearings in this case took place from 20 May to 22 June. Sarkozy appeared before them only once, and that was to give testimony.
The court sentenced the former French president to one year in prison.
