A telephone conversation took place today between French President Emmanuel Macron and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
As reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the Élysée Palace, the leaders of the two states discussed regional security issues.
“The presidents of Azerbaijan and France, Ilham Aliyev and Emmanuel Macron, have agreed on cooperation towards strengthening stability in the region, relying on the support of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (Russia, France, USA),” TASS reported, citing the Élysée Palace’s statement on the telephone conversation between the two leaders.
During the conversation, Macron expressed concern over the tension in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. “The presidents discussed the situation in the region and the remaining difficulties that must be overcome in light of the 9 November (2020) agreement, which France will support,” the administration added.
