The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, touched upon Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations during her briefing.
She stressed that Moscow is closely following the discussions in Armenia and Azerbaijan on the signing of a peace treaty and the determination of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Unfortunately, fundamental disagreements persist between the parties on political issues, so at this stage we consider the unconditional implementation of all provisions of the trilateral agreements of 9 November 2020 and 11 January 2021 to be a priority, and, of course, this primarily concerns the maintenance of the ceasefire regime, the resolution of humanitarian issues, the unblocking of economic and transport links in the region, and we hope that these steps will help create conditions for Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and a final political settlement,” Zakharova said.
