A 5.1 magnitude earthquake has occurred in Turkey’s Hatay province, according to local seismologists.
According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, the epicenter was located in the sea, at a depth of nine kilometers, five kilometers from the coast.
As reported by a RIA Novosti correspondent, residents of Hatay felt the tremors, and several buildings that had been damaged by the earthquakes in early February collapsed.
Meanwhile, kommersant.ru noted that the death toll from the series of earthquakes in Turkey in early February has risen to 38,044. This was announced by the local disaster management agency. More than 11,000 rescuers have been involved in the debris clearance operations.
