Official Baku welcomes the launch of Armenian-Turkish negotiations aimed at regulating relations between the countries, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.
He noted that the implementation of the joint statements and agreements adopted at the end of the second Karabakh war has no alternative.
“Today the region must develop towards peace and stability. The only path serving these goals is the regulation of relations between the countries of the region, renouncing enmity, strengthening trust between countries, developing economic ties, opening communications and forming an environment of cooperation between states. Therefore, we welcome and support the launch of Turkish-Armenian contacts initiated by Turkey,” he said.
The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed hope that the launch of Armenian-Turkish dialogue will accelerate the process of regulating relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the fulfilment of obligations arising from the trilateral statement.
