The “Art of the Nations” foundation is to bring to Armenia the exceptional works of the great twentieth-century Spanish painters Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso.
The exhibition of the renowned representatives of Surrealism is to open at the National Gallery of Armenia.
In a conversation with a correspondent of Armenpress, the director of the “Art of the Nations” foundation, Yaroslav Shadrin, said that sculptures, ceramic and graphic works by Dalí and Picasso will be displayed at the National Gallery of Armenia.
“We already have an agreement with the gallery, and in the coming days we shall officially announce the details of the exhibition,” Shadrin stressed.
According to him, the exhibition includes more than 200 works by the two great artists. “It will be open to visitors for several months,” stressed the foundation’s director.
On one occasion, Shadrin said that Dalí was complex, kind, delicate and full of doubts. “Picasso’s character is closer to me. We had several of his works in our home. It was as if another man had appeared in the house — full of strength, powerful. I could not tolerate it and took those works off the wall,” confessed the foundation’s director.
The collection of the “Art of the Nations” foundation is considered the fourth largest in the world.
