French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to BFM television, the conversation lasted more than two hours.
This was their first conversation since Macron was re-elected to the presidency of France on April 24.
According to the Kremlin press service, Putin told his French counterpart that Russia, “despite Kyiv’s inconsistency and unpreparedness for serious work,” remains open to dialogue.
The Russian leader also pointed to the facts of the European Union countries’ disregard for the military crimes of Ukraine’s security forces.
“Attention was drawn to the disregard by European Union member states of the military crimes of the Ukrainian security forces, the massive shelling of Donbas cities, as a result of which civilians are being killed,” the statement said.
