Let us recall that yesterday Turkey’s parliament extended by one year the mandate for conducting military operations in Iraqi and Syrian territories.

In the document, presented to parliament with President Erdogan’s signature, it is stated that Turkey’s southern regions continue to remain under threat, and that this strikes at Turkey’s national security.

The document also notes that Turkey will launch its military operations based on its country’s national security concern and the issue of eliminating terrorism in the region. It is also noted that the president demands, on the basis of Article 92 of the Constitution, the extension by one year of the mandate for military operations, which is to take effect from 30 October of this year.
