Turkey has begun assembling the first batch of Bayraktar TB2 drones intended for Ukraine.
As reported by Korrespondent, citing people’s deputy Ihor Kopytin, the assembly work is taking place at the Baykar Defense enterprise in Istanbul. According to the deputy, today, together with Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister, inspections were carried out at the Istanbul plant to monitor the production process.
He emphasized that the Turkish side is fulfilling its obligations under the agreement signed with Ukraine.
“This unique opportunity strengthens our country’s defense capability and also expands the presence of both countries’ defense industries in international markets,” Kopytin stressed.
Ukraine plans to purchase 12 Bayraktar complexes from Turkey, which became known in October 2020. Each of the complexes has 4 reconnaissance-strike drones.
