Turkey’s Kurdish Party May Recall All Its Deputies from Parliament

The largest political force representing Kurdish interests in Turkey, the Peoples’ Democratic Party, is to discuss in the coming days the possibility of recalling its deputies from the country’s Grand National Assembly. This was announced in Ankara by the party’s representative Saruhan Oluc. According to him, the party’s governing bodies are to make a final decision next Wednesday. Through this step, the Kurdish party wishes to express its protest against the dismissal by the Turkish government of more than two dozen mayors who are members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party. The pro-Kurdish party has 62 deputies in Turkey’s Grand National Assembly. Among them is also the Armenian-origin legislator Garo Paylan.
