Turkey is hiding the real figures of infection with the “Corona” virus. This was stated by Turkey’s former prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu, writes the Israel Hayom newspaper.
The newspaper noted that according to official data, in the last 3 days 1,491-1,549 people were infected in Turkey, and 26-39 people died. For a country with a population of 83 million, that is a good number, but the world has doubts about these figures.
Turkey remains a “red” country because the country’s president Recep Erdogan and health minister Fahrettin Koca are hiding the real numbers. Now Erdogan is being criticised not only by his opponents, but also by his former ally, former prime minister and former foreign minister Davutoglu.
The newspaper noted that this is the first time he is being criticised from “within the house.” “It is true that Davutoglu is no longer a member of the Justice and Development Party, but he is a political leader who supports neo-Ottomanism. In addition, Davutoglu is an academic, a professor of political science and international relations. From that perspective, he is in an advantageous position,” wrote the newspaper.
Davutoglu also stated that the AKP has become a “family party.”
“The constant nature of the scale of infection throughout Turkey is illogical. The Turkish economy is so fragile that we cannot afford a new quarantine,” expressed the opinion of doctor Eitan Cohen Yanarocak.
