Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has commented on the decision of Armenia’s Constitutional Court regarding the Rome Statute.
“Moscow has established high-level contacts with Yerevan to discuss the possible ratification of the International Criminal Court statute.
I do not consider it necessary to disclose the details of those contacts. We assume that this issue will be resolved in an allied and mutually acceptable manner,” she said.
It will be recalled that last weekend, in Yerevan, the Constitutional Court announced that the International Criminal Court statute conforms to Armenia’s constitution. If it is also ratified in parliament, Armenia’s law enforcement authorities will be obliged to arrest the Russian president if he visits Armenia.
