“What is happening does not concern only Armenia, but the entire region and the whole world.” This was stated today by former French President François Hollande during a gathering organized by French Armenians.
“For years, military operations have taken place along the line of contact, and there have been numerous casualties. Today, however, we can no longer speak of tension along the line of contact that concerns servicemen. We now stand before a war, yes, a real war. That war was provoked by Azerbaijan. It is proceeding with Turkey’s overt support and involvement. Turkey has provided weapons, as well as material support. Now there is also evidence that Syrian militants have passed through Turkey to take part in the war taking place in Artsakh,” said Hollande.
He noted that France bears its share of responsibility, as it is a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group. According to Hollande, France, together with the other co-chairs — Russia and the United States — must compel Turkey to end its intervention, and also apply international sanctions.
